Notification to Policyholders of transfer of assets of Simply Insurance New Zealand Limited

Transfer of Consumer Credit Insurance policies from Simply Insurance to Hallmark

Simply Insurance New Zealand Limited (Simply Insurance) intends to transfer to Hallmark General Insurance Company Limited ("Hallmark") all of its insurance business on 5 March 2012.  That transfer will have the approval of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.  

Hallmark currently manages the Simply Insurance business and, like Simply Insurance, is a member of the GE Capital group of companies.  The Hallmark insurance brand is well-established in Australia where it has been registered since 16 June 1965.

As a result of the transfer, the obligation to provide cover to GE Money's New Zealand loan and Gem Visa customers under existing consumer credit insurance policies will be transferred to Hallmark.  The existing obligation on Hallmark Life Insurance Company Limited to provide Life Cover under those insurance policies will continue unaffected.

If you hold one of these policies no action on your part is required.  Your policy will remain in place, its terms will remain the same and there will otherwise be no change to your rights and obligations under it.  All telephone numbers, email contact details, claims procedures and claims personnel will be unchanged.
